The artist

Yvonne
Stevenson

Stevenson paints at one scale and in one edition: large, and once. Her forms are collaged, scraped back and redrawn until they settle into something unmistakably hers, made to read from across a room and reward standing close. She works from a studio in La Crosse, Wisconsin, after years in California, Kentucky and Maryland, and has never allowed a print of any work.

"Oh, damn it. I didn't know you were going to ask me questions!"Yvonne Stevenson
